The Department of Near Eastern Studies at the Faculty of Philology and
Cultural Studies invites applications for a position of University
Assistant in the field of Ancient Near Eastern Studies, with a focus
on Assyriology (PhD).
The position, which is half-time (50{518531fadeb811ae8faec8ba5977a8511c844f925d504d488b0d90b6c297e400}) is offered for the duration of
6 years, beginning at the first of march 2014 or the earliest
convenient date thereafter. Prerequisite for the application is a
doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of Ancient Near Eastern Studies
(philology: Sumerian and Akkadian); one main focus of research should
be in the third or second millennium BC.
In addition to teaching and independent research, the successful
candidate will participate in the administration of the department and
its library and will contribute intensively to the bibliography
project “Register Assyriologie” (AfO) and to departmental projects in
the field of Digital Humanities. Participation in research, teaching
