Published by SebH on 11-06-202111-06-2021

Who Can Join?

Anyone with an interest for Assyriology (in its broadest sense) and Archaeology of the ancient Near East can be admitted as a member of the IAA. With your membership, you support the goals of the IAA and help them to promote and support Assyriological research worldwide through awards, subsidies, the publication of a newsletter and the organization of conferences.
The Association has ordinary, supporting, student, and non-paying members, who may be individual adults or legally constituted bodies (see the constitution). Only those individuals or legally constituted bodies who support the aims and activities of the Association will be admitted as members. A Student Membership can only be activated with a valid Student ID.

Membership Dues and Benefits

Students with a valid student ID pay € 10,- per year. For this IAA members receive the following benefits:
  • A discount of € 15 on Rencontre entrance fees.
  • A discount of around € 5,- on books bought during Rencontres and shortly after from participating publishers.

How to Become a Member

Please fill out the application form below, or send a typed letter of application to the Board. It will also be possible to fill out a form during a Rencontre Assyriologique Internationale, the annual congress of Assyriology and Ancient Near Eastern Archaeology. Of course, an applicant can pay for more than one year, the administrative year of the Association coincides with the calendar year.
A member is admitted to the IAA only after he/she has paid the dues for the current year and associated expenses. When the applicant has been accepted his/her name will be added to the Members list.

  • Paypal. Pay via your PayPal account.
