This PhD research seeks to reconsider the Early Dynastic evidence from the so-called Royal Cemetery and adjacent excavated areas at Ur. The original excavation records stored at the British Museum will be systematically examined in order to clarify the stratigraphy of the site. Also, a bulk of relevant artifacts kept at the British Museum and the Penn Museum will be re-examined. This study aims to contribute to the reconstruction of the stratigraphic sequence of the ED period at the site, in order to provide further information on the development of the ED material culture in Southern Mesopotamia.
