The Yale Babylonian Collection invites applications for a post-doctoral fellowship of one year, full-time residence in New Haven, preferably beginning October 1, 2016.
The postdoctoral fellow is expected to prepare a substantial group of cuneiform tablets for publication in hand copies and photographs in a volume to be published under the auspices of the Collection. Preference is given to publication of about forty Sumerian literary manuscripts, but other projects will be considered. The postdoctoral fellow is expected to participate in the academic life of the Collection and to teach one graduate level course.
The appointment is for one year and non-renewable. A Ph.D. in Assyriology and experience in reading and copying tablets is required. The annual salary is $42,000, plus benefits. Yale University is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer.
